Ray of sunflowers

Spring is about close to half way through . Summertime is close so it had me thinking about sunflowers!!! I remember group edible sunflower to eat the seeds didn't realize how big the flower can get!! I kid you not at least 8 foot and the part that holds the seeds was 2 human head size if you put them side to side.

Now just a little notes
1. For the granny square . You can make it as big as you want but I made it 4 in by 4 in and the flower I made it 3 in
2. The leaves of the flower is a little tedious.
3. Ch3 counts as dc

Simple facemask slot for filter

🚨 🚨 Coronavirus is really scary!!!
Something simple as touching your mouth nose or eyes with your hands is nothing to joke about! Times like these you should be prayed 🙏 🙏 up asking God to put a hedge of protection around you and your loved ones! God says in his word there will be wars and roomers of wars well here you go . Dont take life lightly people!! Love you all ❤ ❤ with all of my heart

Simple fun easy to do facemask .All you need is any yarn a hook and ☕ coffee filters ! Thats right I said it coffee filters.

The size hook I used vs what you think you should depends on you I used 5mm hook . But I used a bean stitch and half double crochet. So my stitch is close just like single crochet

Pattern notes
1. For row 1 once I had row 1 finished I then did a hdc on the side and continued to the other side (36)
2. I did  6 more  rows before I started to do decrease so row 7 start with 2 decreases in the beginning and the end of the row
3. Decrease again in row 8
4. A decrease in last 2 rows
Ive had trouble figuring out how much yarn is used in my pattern course each pattern has a different stitch so with using a hdc and a BS I got 9 stitches to equal one yard of yarn thats 36 inches so for the whole mask itself should be.      yards

Materials used for this pattern
Red heart super saver light blue weight 4 approximately
Hook size 5mm
Yarn needle
100% cotton fabric

Abbreviations
Hdc. Half double crochet
Hdc2tog. Half double crochet decrease
Ch. Chain
Bean st.  (BS) Insert stitch pull up yarn yarn over insert back in same stitch pull up yarn yarn over pull through all 4 loops
Slst. Slip stitch

Final measurements
Top of mask is 6 inches
Bottom of mask is 10 inches
Ch 36
1.  Turn hdc in 2nd st from hook then proceed with BS , *hdc , BS , *  repeat *to* until end of row ( 34)
2. Ch2 turn hdc , BS , * hdc , BS *repeat * to* until end of row (34)
3. to 6. Repeat row 2. (34)
7. Ch2. Turn. Hdc2tog , hdc2tog , hdc , BS. *hdc , BS * repeat in the next sts last 4 sts hdc2, hdc2tog (30)
8. Ch2. Turn. Hdc2tog , hdc2tog , hdc , BS ,  *hdc , BS * rep4 until end of row last 4 sts hdc2tog , hdc2tog (26)
9 and 10. Ch2. Turn. *hdc , BS *  repeat until end or row (26)
11. Ch2 turn , hdc2tog , hdc2tog , *hdc , BS , * repeat until last 4 sts hdc2tog , hdc2tog (22)
12. Hdc2tog , hdc2tog ,  *hdc , BS*  repeat until last 4 sts hdc2tog , hdc2tog (18)
Slst weave in

Ch 30
Be sure to leave a little tail before ch30 then leave tail to handsew in to the corner then sew in be sure to add at least 2 knots to secure on end then take other end and sew in to the other corner be sure to add 2 knots to secure now we have a way to secure the mask by going around the ear.

Pocket for filter
I simply did
2 1/2 in height by 5 in length
Ch 19
1. Ch2 turn in 2nd st hdc , BS , *hdc , BS , * repeat *to* until end of row (18)
2. Ch2 turn * hdc , BS *  repeat *to* until end of row (18)
3.to 9 repeat row 2 (18)
Leave tail to sew in of course slst 1st
Sew only on sides and bottom
Simply place this pocket where your mouth will be.

DONT DO IT!! HOW TO MAKE A POM POM

Materials needed for this project
Sharp sissors
Yarn needle
Any yarn 1 or 2 colors
A small piece of cardboard about 3 inches wide

1. Cut a piece of cardboard approximately 3 in

2. Take your yarn and wrap around cardboard approximately 75 to 100 times depends on how full you want the pom pom to be
If you take 2 skeins of yarn whether same or different colors thats up to you it helps make the pom pom fuller

3. Once you got the desired amount of yarn simply place your thumb to help hold in place and cut yarn be sure to have it long enough to put 2 to 3 knots on the pom pom and then some to sew in the item needing a pom pom
4. Take both or one of yarn and thread it in yarn needle

5. Next place thumb back as shown above and sew in behind thumb and pull ysrn out be sure to leave a little to make a knot repeat at least 2 to 3 times to help secure the knot

Notice how the 2nd pom pom is fuller thats because I wrapped it 100 times around cardboard using 2 skeins AND cut the yarn a little short
Here is a 📹 video tutorial
