How to crochet a hot pad

Here is a really easy hot pad pattern . So easy my daughter could make it!

Figuratively speaking 😆 lol 😆 
I have 3 daughters one is 27 one is 24 and one is 22 . So 3 blessings! And now I have 4 grandsons 😆. God has been and still is so good to me!❤❤

Materials
Red heart super saver minty green weight 4
Red heart super saver buff brown weight 4
Lion brand pom pom green
Hook 3.5mm
Yarn needle
Scissors

Abbreviation
Sc. Single crochet
Hdc. Half double crochet
Slst. Slip stitch
Ch. Chain

Swatch
4x4
17 stitches by 13 rows 
I made a mistake on the video I stated 14 rows for this pattern and its more!! So sorry everyone!!

Approximately yards used
9 yards minty green
60 yards of buff brown
22 yards of green

So Im not being clear as to what to do each row . I did a ch2 and turn my work for each row 

above showing ch2

With buff
Ch34
1. In 2nd ch and remaining chs hdc (34hdc)
2. Ch2 hdc in each (34hdc )
3. Ch2 turn. Hdc in each st (34hdc)
4.  Hdc in each (34hdc)
5 to 20. Hdc in each st (34hdc)
Slst weave in .

Take minty green 
Slip knot on hook 
Attach to pot holder by sc 
Be sure to sc in each st going along the edge of the pot holder . Also 2sc in the corners to make a square cleaner look.

Slst leave tail long enough to sew in to top of hot pads .

3. Ch1 turn sc (4sc)
4 to 8. Ch1 turn. Sc (4sc)
9. Sc2tog , sc (2sc)
10. Sc2tog (1sc)
Slst and leave long enough tail to sew in 
Set aside

Sides of 🌵 cactus
Make 2 
Ch 4
1. Sc in 2nd ch and remaining (3sc)
2. Sc2tog , sc (2sc)
3. Sc2tog (1sc)
Slst and weave in towards the corner of the beginning of row 1 leave tail long enough to sew on main body of cactus
When sewing on to the cactus slightly turn in a acute angle or 90 degree angle. I put the 2nd piece in the same angle just slightly lower

Ch 7
1. Slst in 2nd ch from hk , sc ,sc , , sc , sc , slst in last st not continue on other side slst , sc , sc , sc , sc , slst in last stitch slst again .
Make 3 
Green 
Ch5
1. Slst in 2nd ch , sc , sc , slst continue on other side ch1 slst , sc , sc , slst , slst again leave tail to sew on .
When sewing this together I simply placed the leaves at in a clock scenario
10 am 12pm 2pm 5pm 7pm leave a very small space in between the 5 of the leaves then place the 3 smaller leaves on that space be sure to leave a small section un sewn to give 3 D effect. As seen in the picture below
